Job description |
You can -Work in both electrical and electronic fields. -Build new robots and improve existing ones. -Work in both digital, analog and power electronics. -Design tools for rapid tests, validation and troubleshooting. -Perform experiments to validate new concepts. -Think how to Integrate electronics and wire into mechanical assembly. -Think about how to solve problems and how to facilitate maintenance or replacement of parts. -Make not only normal PCB, but also flat cables and rigid-flex. -Make and review schematics, PCB routing, gerber data of various types of PCB. -Make and review Bill of Materials. -Manage order of component, PCB and assembly (PCBA). -Make simple firmware for testing PCB with CPU. -Contribute to the creation of quality reference and maintenance documentation for the electrical systems that you and your colleagues create. |
Requirements (MUST) |
<Experience with PCB CAD (Altium preferred)> All the design is conducted in the Altium Designer environment. <Experience in circuit design and PCB routing> Our robots in general have limited space for electronics, wiring and sensors. We need to make complex circuits in a small size. <Ability to test and troubleshoot electric and electronic circuits.> During the prototyping, production, and testing stages, one runs into numerous problems for which there is a need the ability to analyze the basic problem so as to identify the possible parts that may cause it and then verify the possible causes. <Ability to use instruments (tester, oscilloscope, function generator, spectrum analyzer…)> For troubleshooting most of the time instruments are used. <Ability to analyze problems and propose possible solutions considering possible maintenance and weaknesses that could cause future problems.(R&D)> Part of the work consists of the development of new robots. Sometimes the solutions found in the previous steps are not fully functional at the electronic/electrical and/or maintenance level. This is why it is necessary to understand how this can be improved by proposing solutions that also take into account any future problems and/or new implementations. A mentality of R&D is required. <Ability to create new ideas, but at the same time able to respect others' ideas as well and choose the best solutions. Ability to cooperate with others> During the development stages there is a need to think of new solutions and sometimes evaluate proposals from other groups (software, firmware, mechanics, ...) in order to be able to find the best solution you are looking for. At the same time the ability to be able to propose possible ideas even in fields in which one is not specialized. <Mentally open to solutions that are sometimes uncommon or not according to normal standards> Sometimes because of very restrictive designs or because you`re involved in external testing (far from hibot company premises). There`s a need to find solutions to problems even in ways that are not consonant with common standards. To make sure that we have it working. <Ability to convert an explanation of user needs into a schematic or text-based specification or definition of the electrical system requirements> particularly for the purpose of outsourcing the detailed design or manufacture of the electrical system where necessary. <Ability to design a simple but effective test> to verify if an electrical/electronic system meets a particular specification requirements. <Must be willing to assist colleagues in other departments and trades> with engineering, housekeeping, and other work when there is an urgent requirement. |
Requirements (preferred) |
<Communication / Presentation skills> It is often necessary to share ideas and test results with team members, including mechanical, electrical, firmware and software members. The ability to convey ideas and concepts clearly reduces misunderstandings and helps to reduce the time spent in meetings. |
Language spoken skill |
<Need> hibot has members from over 20 different countries, and the technical discussions may happen in either Japanese or English. communication skills in English and Japanese (or at least willingness to develop such skills). The ability to conduct business level communication in at least one of these languages is a requirement. |
